The pronged point gets underneath the rosette of roots, then with a simple levering action, out they come. (For deeper, tap-rooted weeds like dandelions we use the Mira Trowel).

We also wonder if the sharp forked end would be useful for cutting asparagus shoots below soil level. Small ones, perhaps ...

The handle is of turned beechwood. The head consists of a bronze rod and fulcrum. The fulcrum is 2ins (5cm) deep and 4ins (10cm) long.
